After Finley is a book written by a Mum who sadly has loved and lost two babies. The
first baby was lost in March 2008, a day after mother’s day, to a miscarriage. Though a baby to her Mum, as her Mum had imagined all the things they would do together, the baby did not make it to 8 weeks. She was never named or buried, but is still thought about and missed. The second is a beautiful baby boy called Finley, who was born sleeping on August 2nd 2009. He was born at 6.13am after 41 weeks and 5 days of a perfect pregnancy – after 41 weeks and 5 days of planning, hoping and dreaming that this time things would be different. …It begins on the 5th day after Finley was born – 2 days after Finley’s parents took the first step away from the hospital and away from their baby boy.
