My Plea:
Remember My Baby provides Remembrance Photography to parents who have lost their baby before, during or shortly after birth.
Remember My Baby (RMB) is a team of dedicated professional photographers, many of whom have been touched by the loss of a baby and all of whom donate their time and use their skills to provide images which parents can cherish. Our volunteers are part of the very small circle of people who actually get to meet the baby – an honour and a privilege indeed.
The team behind RMB are committed to driving Baby Remembrance Photography forward in the UK, with a registered charity, born on Monday 18th August 2014.
“We received our photos today of our gorgeous little Ted. As heartbreaking as they were to see he looks absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Thank you so much x”
When a couple are given the devastating news that their pregnancy is ending in the most unexpected way, the last thing on their minds is professional portraiture. That’s where we come in. RMB has a growing network of professional photographers throughout the UK, who come into hospital or hospice to capture a lasting and tangible memory of their baby, at no cost to the parents or to the hospital.
“Forever Grateful, Thank you. My perfect angel Olly was born sleeping at 36 weeks. These photographs will be cherished forever, memories of our precious son that will last a lifetime. <3 xxx”
Each family receives a special Remember My Baby USB drive with high resolution digital images and a print release, allowing images to be printed for personal use. These are funded via a campaign on Just Giving called “Sponsor a Memory” where donations of £5 are invited to purchase each USB. The total cost of each USB drive plus encryption software and packaging, postage to each volunteer and then special delivery to each family is around £17.
“Just wanted to let you know that I have been lucky to see some of the photos which Norman did for A and C back in December. They are absolutely beautiful – am so pleased they took the opportunity to have the pictures taken, kind regards, Emma”
Our goal is for every maternity unit and birth centre to have at least one Remembrance Photographer attached to it. We successfully gained our registered statuses in December 2014 and February 2015.
“Thank you so much Cheryl for our stunning photos of Peanut. You certainly captured her uniqueness xxx”
At present we have over 120 active Volunteer Photographers, and a team of over a dozen Volunteer Digital Retouchers, and we are recruiting more to meet the growing demand. The DR team also provide an editing service for parents who were not able to take advantage of our remembrance photography service, editing a small selection of their own images; this is also provided free of charge.
“Well, your work speaks for its self, the pictures just have such a natural look to them and they couldn’t be anymore outstanding. What you do for people is lovely, you give the chance to look back on time stood still and it’s a gift. The pictures mean the world to me and I can’t thank you enough for the previous moments and memories you’ve given me
, it’s a blessing. All the best for the future, many thanks and much appreciated
NR”
To reach our goal we need to raise our profile amongst both health professionals and photographers. We have, tremendous support from the photographic industry with sponsors donating or discounting their services – web hosting for example – and from staff within the NHS embracing what we do and helping to spread the word to their colleagues for the benefit of bereaved families in their care.
“What RMB do is invaluable. We had pictures taken in June of 2016 when our little boy, Otis, was stillborn at 35 weeks. I cannot thank you enough for the precious, irreplaceable memories.” “We take pictures as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone.”
In the four years since launching RMB, over 72,000 photographs from over 2,400 sessions have been provided by over 250 photographers, an average of more than 2 sessions a day across the UK, though many more families than this are facing the loss of their baby. Help us reach them all, please vote for Remember My Baby.
What Others Have Said
“Photographs are the most tangible keepsake that anyone can have. And having professional photographs for free is amazing. I’m so proud to be a volunteer!”
“I’d like to nominate this amazing charity. One of their volunteer photographers came to the hospital when my baby had died. A few weeks later I received the most amazing photographs of my son as well as of his hands, feet and even his ear, which I couldn’t remember even seeing due to the state I was in. Without her and this charity I would never know what my son’s ears, feet and hands would look like. My son got the ‘newborn shoot’ he deserved. I cant thank them enough for this precious gift that will be cherished for all my life.”

Have voted for Remember my baby. When our daughter Dottie May was born sleeping in Oct 2017 Emma from RMB cane and took some beautiful photos for us, these brought us so much comfort. amazing work you all do ❤️
At the time of loosing our gorgeous boy Paul, we were a little bit taken back with the question of do you want a photographer. But it’s possibly the most important thing to have happened in those herrendous days at the hospital. We now only have these photos and I’m forever grateful that remember my baby came to take such gorgeous pictures.
Thank you to all those have voted, we are so pleased to have been able to help so many families with high quality remembrance photography across the UK.
I just wanted to thank you for coming and taking photos of our son Dexy, they are the photos that I most cherish because he looks like any other little baby! Plus Paloma was amazing! They way she talked to him and took such great care and never once batted an eyelid as to the reason why she was there! For comforting us through our my hysterical cries and taking care of him whilst I composed myself for our photos together and capturing not only the heartbreaking moments but also they smile and pride in our faces for our son! I am forever grateful and you deserve this award! ?
