My Plea:
I still can’t believe any of this has happened to my lovely family and I , Billy was our miracle baby , after the birth of my older son Louie ( who is now 10 and produced and made my video ) I suffered near fatal complications that resulted in secondary infertility. After 5 years of trying to conceive , surgical procedures and lots of heartache , we finally got our beautiful miracle baby Billy . We couldn’t believe our luck our family was finally complete….. on June 8th 2017 our beautiful boy entered the world a chunky 8lb 8oz. Everything was perfect he fed amazingly , he slept well he was the perfect bundle of joy . On June 20th when Billy was just 12 days old our lives fell apart , We woke early morning to find our beautiful boy unresponsive , despite best efforts from amazing ambulance and hospital staff Billy could not be saved . After a agonising 6 month wait The coroner ruled his death as sudden unexpected death of an infant. Our boy was perfect , there was nothing wrong with him , but he was gone . Our world as we knew it fell apart.
The day Billy died I held him in my arms and My husband and I made him a promise , we promised him that his death would not be in vain that we would ensure that his short but perfect life would make a difference and that his memory would live on and that is how Billy’s rainbows was born .
We received so much support when he died , we are so lucky in this country , when you are at your lowest and your desperate the help is really there . We were so touched and overwhelmed with the help we received and were so grateful we vowed to “pay it back “ in Billy’s name and through fundraising efforts .
We have since raised around £18,000 , we have given a donation to Birmingham’s children’s hospital bereavement Center to help fund there new bereavement packs , we also sent a donation to children and butterflies who help to find funerals of babies and children. The majority of the money we raise we donate to the amazing Edwards trust who have supported us from day one, this has helped fund much needed bereavement counselling for people in a similar position to ourselves we also purchased a brand new Xbox one for there children’s counselling room . I can’t begin to put into words how amazing there support has been and continues to be , and I have made it my mission to fundraise for them as much as possible and spread the word of this amazing charity who help hundreds of people on this horrible journey every year . I am truly honoured to have being nominated for the “Most valuable contribution” by a member of there team for this award. It really is a honour to fly the kite for Edward’s trust and I hope to
volunteer for them and help them for many years to come.
I have not done this alone my amazing team of “ rainbows” made up of family and friends have helped me organise many events that have made this all possible ! So far we have had a beauty and the beast breakfast , a Christmas grotto , a Christmas party , Billy’s 1st birthday bash and a group
Of 20 of us ran crawled and walked a 5k inflatable obstacle course . We also have big plans for this year , with a zumbathon , Halloween party , summer ball and fashion show all in the pipeline ! I am so proud of what we have achieved in such a short amount of time and I hope that wherever my boy is I am also making him proud.
I will never stop fundraising , I will never stop trying to help others on this unthinkable journey and I will never stop talking about my beautiful son Billy . I have accepted this nomination not only for myself , but for every Mommy and Daddy out there who have experienced baby loss , I do all this for you all , to try and ease the pain and reduce the load , but most of all I do it for our babies , so we can speak there names and so they are never forgotten . Billy I love you , you may be physically gone , but all this is proof you are still around , your memory and your love lives on everyday .

What Other’s Have Said
“Billy arrived into the world on 9th June 2017, but was very sadly taken from her world far too soon, 12 days later. Not only has Louise set up an amazing group in ‘Billy’s Rainbow’s’ but she has been an ambassador for Edward’s Trust, doing some spectacular things in terms of raising awareness and fundraising for the Trust. In the short time since Billy passed away she has raised incredible funds for the services that were supportive to her during Billy’s short but beautiful life. She took it upon herself to host ‘Billy’s Bash’ 6 month Birthday party to raise over £5,000, her oldest sonraised money to purchase a new X-Box for one of our Children’s Counselling Rooms. Louise is now planning Billy’s 1st Angelversary party to raise further funds. Louise is strong and brave and does her upmost to smile though her grief.”
