Remember My Baby provides Remembrance Photography to parents losing their baby before, during or shortly after birth. remembermybaby.org.uk
Remember My Baby (RMB) is a team of dedicated professional photographers, many of whom have been touched by the loss of a baby, all of whom give of their time, skills and their hearts to provide images which parents can cherish. The team behind RMB are committed to driving Baby Remembrance Photography forward in the UK, with a registered charity, born on Monday 18th August 2014.
“Remember My Baby is a charity dedicated to Remembrance Photography of baby loss. The service they and their volunteer photographers supply is extraordinary. We requested a photographer for our daughter who passed and the service we received was amazing. ” Kay Gilhespie
When a couple are given the devastating news that their pregnancy is ending in the most unexpected way, the last thing on their minds is professional portraiture. That’s where we come in. RMB has a growing network of professional photographers throughout the UK, who come into a hospital or hospice to capture a lasting and tangible memory of their baby, at no cost to the parents or to the hospital.
“This organisation is purely voluntary and provides families with professional photographs of their angel babies. As soon as that call is placed they do their utmost to make a photographer available for the family. All the photographers I have met have treated the families with kindness and respect, they go above and beyond to make it special. These memories are priceless; they are black and white images. They bring something positive to the most difficult situation. Most families have professional photographs taken of their children, this service enables angel parents to do the same and I have seen many images proudly displayed. They deserve some recognition for the work that they do.” Debbie, Warrington
Each family receive a special Remember My Baby USB memory stick with high resolution digital images and a print release, allowing images to be printed for personal use. These have been funded via a campaign on Just Giving called “Sponsor a Memory” where donations of £5 per USB were invited and funds to purchase several hundred USBs were donated in surprisingly short order. campaign.justgiving.com/charity/remember-mybaby/sponsor-a-usb-memory
“These volunteers do a wonderful job of giving families precious memories of their beautiful babies.” S. Small
Establishing RMB as a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales and the Scottish Charity Regulator was key to enabling maximum coverage of maternity units and birth centres In England, Wales and Scotland, for the benefit of those parents facing a loss of the worst kind. Our goal is for every maternity unit and birth centre to have at least one Remembrance Photographer attached to it. We successfully gained our registered statuses in December 2014 and February 2015.
At present we have over 120 active Volunteer Photographers, and a team of over a dozen Volunteer Digital Retouchers, and we are recruiting more to meet the growing demand. The DR team also provide an editing service for parents who have non-RMB images; this is also free of charge.
To reach our goal we need to raise our profile amongst both health professionals and amongst photographers. We have had tremendous support from the photographic industry with sponsors donating or discounting their services – web hosting for example – and from staff within the NHS embracing what we do and helping to spread the word to their colleagues for the benefit of bereaved families in their care.
“Nicky’s daughter Kim was stillborn in Spring 2001. Following her loss Nicky became a very active member of Derby Sands and was the secretary until 2011. Nicky stood down from Sands to take up her hobby of photography professionally but has remained as the Derby Sands photographer, attending our memorial and fundraising events. Nicky is one of the founders of the charity Remember My Baby and over the last few years has devoted almost every waking moment to setting up this charity. Remember My Baby provides a unique service to bereaved families, you only have to look at some of the photographs and read the wonderful comments that families have made to understand that every single family should be offered this absolutely amazing service. I only wish it were available to me 7 years ago………I would give anything to have some of her beautiful photographs of my baby to treasure forever. ” Lou Evans
In the two years since launching RMB, over 650 sessions have been provided to families across the UK, an average of more than 2 sessions a day in recent months, though many more families than this are facing the loss of their baby. Help us reach them all, please vote for Remember My Baby.

The charity Remember my Baby turned what will always be the most horrific time of my life into a special moment between me and my son. My son had died when Imelda photographed me with him but his pictures are beautiful. He looks like a sleeping angel and when i look at his pictures i am able to see him as such! Thank you so so much.
I was left speachless when i got to see some of the images of my angel Kimberley, the photographer took some lovely photographs that will always be cherished by myself, my husband and our families. Can’t thank them enough for the work they do.
