My wife Ashley gave birth to twins at just 24 weeks. We sadly lost our first Daughter Esme but are thankful for our second daughter Isla.
Since Ashley had the girls she spent every day at the hospital by Islas side, while also keeping the home running smoothly and keeping me sane. She has set up support groups at hospitals in london and essex and has started her own organisation to provide care packages to NICU families. She does this all to help others but is also an amazing mum to Isla.

Her story really touched me .She has inspired me with her bravery and courage . I was struggling with a situation and I could relate to her story . I drew strength from this . That as soon as I seen the call for nominees I instantly thought of Erin. I contacted her on social media for her details .
I have never met her but I have followed her story through pregnancy to her delivery and then the passing of her daughter .

Brian and Claire Mear have turned their loss into legacy after their daughter Molly was born sleeping. They tirelessly raise both funds and awareness for neonatal charities, mostly by putting together heavy metal festivals in the North and South of the UK, where multiple artists perform under the banner of Molly’s handprint. They are a truly inspirational couple and deserve a thank you for all that they do.

They took the heart breaking decision to remove all the tubes and medical equipment so they could have the last minutes cuddling their little girl. She passed away in their arms. We feared the worst for Holly and Fabian after this devastating blow but they showed great strength and maturity and took comfort in their beautiful son Beau. Poor Beau couldn’t understand why his little sister would not be coming home with the family.

I don’t even know what to say about Max! She was one of the first people to reach out to me. I was in such a bad place and she made me feel less alone in the world. I know she has done the same for others. She has recently started making self care packages to send to parents that have lost their baby. She does an amazing job fundraising for Remember My Baby. She speaks out so honestly and she is such an inspiration.

Petra set up the charity Darcey’s Dream after losing one of her twin daughters at 9 and a half weeks old. Petra decided to set up Darcey’s Dream in memory of her beautiful twin daughter so that no family or siblings go through what her family went through. She is available 24 hours a day and has been known to go and sit with families in the middle of the night to comfort them and hold their hand. She has recently been training staff in hospitals about how to support families when their children are on end of life care. She is amazing and inspirational in every way!

This woman has been my rock. She messaged me through Instagram not long after my son had died, she asked me whether I would be interested in an ‘angel mama’ meet up. This was something that had never crossed my mind but I never knew would be so important. Over the weeks, I became very close to Sam and her daughter Emmy. I learnt their story and supported her through the best thing she has done for everyone.

As a student and then as a practising midwife, Steph had always had an interest in bereavement care – even attending local Sands meetings as a student midwife to help support families. Steph was acutely aware that bereavement training for student and qualified midwives was sparse, inconsistent, often expensive, and that many students qualified and moved into midwifery jobs having had little (or sometimes no) exposure to bereaved families or bereavement care. This understanding was brought sharply into focus, of course, when Steph stopped being simply a midwife with an interest in bereavement care, and became a bereaved mother too.

I nominate Steph Wild, training others to help those going though such an emotional journey, is a gift from a mother to a mother, and beyond.
Sam Boatwright as we met over a decade ago and being able to see her Facebook and Instagram posts anticipating and throughout Emmy Rose’s tragically short overwhelmingly loved life has been devastating and beautiful. Keeping her daughter’s memory alive and opening doorways for other grieving mothers to do the same (for example through the Angel Mamas clothing line she founded) is something that I’m sure would help so many families whose children have been taken from them too soon. Sam’s love for her daughter and outreach to other angel parents is incredibly inspiring ???
I nominate Holly Burdett for all her bravery throught her most difficult time.
I nominate Samantha boatwright.
I think it’s disgusting that only babies under 18 months old my daughter was 21 months old …… she was. Still a infant and a child ? Awareness can be for miscarriages but not for babies older than 18 months ? Really unfair
Good luck Claire Mear!
