My Plea:

This is a temporary profile

I am nominating Jon for the Thank You Award. I cannot actually begin to put into words how amazing Jon is. We met on a course, and became friends. He has always been an inspiration to me – so kind, confident, successful and living a totally different life. He was devastated to learn that Finley had died, and became a huge source of support during those lonely early months, able to listen open hearted and non judgemental to whatever space i found myself in. By his own admission he had no experience of fatherhood at that time, let alone of babyloss, but he was willing to listen & to learn. He drove from London to Finley’s funeral, and stepped in at the last moment when I couldn’t read the letter i had written to Finley, reading my words so beautifully in front of the packed church. He was always at the end of the phone, when things were too hard, and supported me and baz through our next pregnancy – becoming god father to Toni-Joi & Finley when she was a year old. He never fails to remember Finley with us, on special dates. Jon has supported all of my various ventures over the years, coming on workshops i have ran, attending events, and being a mentor through the development of the charity i run. He is the first to celebrate something – but also always remembers the reason why I am doing all these amazing things. When one of my biggest fears is that Finley will be forgotten, Jon and Claire are treasured friends, who hold Finley in their hearts always.
