A little peice of hope goes beyond awareness helping and being their for either grieving parents or parents who have a child with medical issues without Helen and her team the island would have no support in these areas and the level of compassion in the charity is outstanding

Carly and Martin have brought zephyrs to grieving parents they no longer have to go back to where they lost their baby /baby’s it’s a beautiful place it’s calming safe place to come Carly and the people that help her offer a loving caring place of support.

When I PPROM at 21 I was filled with doom and gloom in the hospital there was no hope and nothing they could do. I stumbled upon little heartbeats late one night about a week after my waters had gone. Ciara Curran actually saved my daughter! Drs were already in talks of termination and I believed that was my only option. Within days Ciara sent out a pack to me and from that moment on I stuck to the PPROM advise.

Right now, we appreciate Every Life Counts, a charity in Dublin dedicated to providing desperate families with much needed perinatal hospice care and support, who’ve not only just helped us along the way, but have actually played a huge role in our daughters story. People might not forget, but they don’t always remember. That’s where I’d like to highlight the support we received from Every Life Counts. They remember me. They remember my daughter. They remember my partner. And they remember us every, single, day.

This charity have counselled me via their inbox more than any other service has (including NHS) and I know they are not obliged to do this. They sent me what I needed to lay my baby to rest and I’ll never be able to thank them enough for that, but the hours of their own time spent talking to me and offering their comfort is something I’ll never be able to repay. Whenever I called out to them (which was usually in the middle of the night) they answered straight away.

The Organisarion – Lighthouses – was set up specifically to support bereaved parents of Infant Loss. Nadine herself went through a miscarriage many years ago and there was no support. Lighthouses is a Counselling Two-Day Retreat service which over the 3 years since it was founded has helped more than 100 parents (men and women). Furthermore this service has developed to include a Face-Face Support Group and an Online Support Group.

Our Angel Bears has been nothing short of amazing and supportive. I have followed their journey since they set up their group in June of 2017. Having faced knockbacks, they still persisted and have slowly grown to almost 3000 followers. Out of many of the baby loss support groups I have encountered since becoming a member of the baby loss community I have never come across people who are this genuine. There’s not a time you cannot message them for a chat. The entire team has suffered the unimaginable losses we have all faced and are a real support not only to myself but to many others as well.

They do amazing work to support families who have been affected by the death of their baby or young child, suddenly and unexpectedly. They offer home visits, bereavement support workers, pay for counseling, arrange play therapy for siblings, offer peer support through befrienders and Facebook groups. They also have a programme called Next infant support, where they support families who go on to have further children after a loss and provide apnoea monitors.

Scottish Cot Death Trust had helped me more, with support and knowledge, in the past few months than anything I’ve approached in the last 45 years since I lost my wee boy. An amazing team! ?
