Lighthouses Therapy Services (a not-for-profit org) was founded in 2015 by Nadine Baynes to support parents of infant loss – Miscarriage, Stillbirth, Neonatal loss, Ectopic pregnancy and for those who have been through compassionate induction.
Lighthouses provide weekend group counselling retreats in a beautiful venue in Formby, Merseyside where each parent will receive much needed love care and support over 16 hours.
Nadine experienced a miscarriage herself a few years ago and unfortunately the support was non – existent and she felt shame for being so devastated due to the reactions of others and left the hospital with not even a leaflet. It was as though she, her husband and their baby just didn’t matter.
Nadine didn’t want to become bitter about her experience and so fast forward a number of years and she was now a Psychotherapist, her goal being to support parents of infant loss, knowing that there was a huge gap in infant loss support services. She was determined to deliver compassionate and gentle support to the bereaved parents. So Lighthouses was born from Nadine Baynes’ experiences and calls it ‘pain to purpose’.
Since 2015 Lighthouses have facilitated 30 residential counselling retreats for almost 200 parents. the team has grown from 2 people to 10 over the 4 years and services now include after-care forums, face-to-face support group, life-coaching and 1-1 counselling.
NADINE AND HER TEAM WILL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP PARENTS OF INFANT LOSS, TO ENSURE THEY NEVER FEEL ALONE IN THEIR GRIEF, TO LET THEM KNOW THEIR BABIES LIVES MATTERED AND TO SUPPORT THE PARENTS IN MOVING FORWARD WHEREVER THEY ARE IN THEIR GRIEF.

The Organisarion – Lighthouses – was set up specifically to support bereaved parents of Infant Loss. Nadine herself went through a miscarriage many years ago and there was no support. Lighthouses is a Counselling Two-Day Retreat service which over the 3 years since it was founded has helped more than 100 parents (men and women). Furthermore this service has developed to include a Face-Face Support Group and an Online Support Group.
